I work at the Knowxville airport and live near the University of Tennessee, only about a five mile distance.  But with traffic and gas prices and the fact that I gained 20 pounds over the last ten years, I decided it would make a lot of sense if I started to bike instead of driving to and from work.

The bike I needed for regular, daily commuting in all kinds of weather cost about $1000 — believe me, I did my homework on this  If you’re going to depend on a bike for getting to work, you have to go with quality and a proper fitting bicycle.  But due to some problems I had in 2006, I had to declare bankruptcy the next year.  That means I have bad credit, I have lack a credit card and no spare cash whatsoever.
